I created this artwork in 2020  - a time, where the world seems to become dark and uncomfortable.  But with this piece I wanted to give the hopeful message:  "new light"  will soon be there again.

Some artworks like this one need a lot of time and different layers of paint and additives (in this case marble powder and quartz sand) to 'grow' a kind of 3rd dimension.  This texture is so inviting -  not only to see it, but literally to FEEL and touch it.

This is the first piece of a new work cycle named "linguaggio dell'anima" SOUL LANGUAGE.

In this artwork I combine the power of abstraction with the sensuality of impressionism.

The painting is inspired by nature and the Japanese tradition “Shinrin-yoku”, which loosely translated means forest bathing and means a deep immersion in the atmosphere of the forest to regenerate mind and body.
Using acrylic paints, sand and marble powder, I have created a textural work that is meditative and inspiring. In this artwork I wanted to express the feeling of inner flow in an abstract way and create a unique piece that spreads a joyful atmosphere full of movement.

"The only constant in life is change" Heraclitus -  Having this in mind I created this diptych during the corona virus pandemic wanting to express the change the world is going through.  But I wanted to give a positive perspective and HOPE, that changes - which often seem scary - bring development and growth in the long run.

My purpose painting this artwork was to represent and transport the feeling of an endless contemplative space, where nothing distracts the mind and that invites to relax, breath and just be in the moment.

I mainly used intense ultramarine blue (acrylic paint from 'GOLDEN'), which is the blue tone that gives this special warm feeling. Marble powder and other materials were added to create an exciting texture, that gives so much mystery to the painting.

The texture is enhanced with a bit of transparent greenish-blue, to intensify the sense of depth and give an additional color value to the eye depending from the angle you are looking on the painting.

A minimal artwork in terms of style and a great choice if you are a lover of blue and that special feeling of wideness, calmness and  freedom it brings. In any case a very special jewel to look at and to live with.

How to visualize "calma" the Italian word for serenity and stillness?

Here is my vision of complete tranquility - a dreamlike seascape full of depth.

I laid many transparent layers of blue, dark blue, blue-green, turquoise and white one on top of the other, so that the artwork - depending on the incidence of light - sometimes looks bluish sometime greenish/turquoise and has a mysterious, almost mystical aura.

I worked in many, glazing layers of paint to create a blurred, almost ethereal surface in this abstract minimalist artwork  to breathe life into the colors, wanting them to give the impression of being in constant motion.

This feeling of fighting an 'invisible enemy' during the corona virus pandemic - is something I never felt before and I think this is/was the real threat of this time.

Nevertheless I feel that this state of emergency brought us to reflect what is really important in life and (besides the maaany negative things and of course too many losses of precious people all over the world)  revealed so many positiv things too, e.g. the helpfulness between neighbors that barely knew each other before or the assistance between nations, that wheren't cooperating before.

In my lifetime it was the first time, that worldwide we were sitting in the same boat and could only win this battle together.

This is a beautiful and unique piece, that will remind you of these strange and difficult times, but at the same time bring the conviction, that we will overcome all this.
